1. Sign Up
It's so easy to put-off joining  a martial arts club until tomorrow.  Don't procrastinate - do it now!

2. Turn Up

After a hard day at work there are a hundred excuses for not turning up for training.  Ignore them!

3.  Relax

Don't worry about being the best in the class or competing with everyone else, you're training for a long-term goal, and your only real competition is yourself.
4. Bring A Note Book
As your training progresses you'll find increasingly more ideas and training drills to work on.  Writing them down is an easy way to build a training reference for when you are at home.

5. Bring A Bottle Of Water
You're going to be exercising - a lot - so make sure you have some fluids to hand.

6. Wear Loose-Fitting Clothes
Until you have your IMAS uniform, wear loose-fitting clothes and trainers to class.
7. Avoid Large Meals Before Class
We're all hungry after a day at work, but a large meal before class will affect your ability to train.  If you're hungry, eat a light snack beforehand.

8. Talk To People
Everybody in the class is keen on martial arts, and fellow students have a lot to offer.  Talk to the person you're training with, and get to know them. You need each other to progress.

9. Listen To Your Instructor
It's likely that you will not have experienced this kind of training before, even if you are an experienced martial artist.  Take the time to listen to your instructor.
10. Ask Questions
We don't expect you to be a robot, copying our moves because we tell you to - there is a whole science behind these  martial arts that you need to understand.  Ask questions to learn from your instructor.

11. Train Hard!
The more you put into your training the more you will get out of it.  We love our training, and we hope you will too.  Train with us - and train well!
